
Ecotherapy with children and young people in mind
We are excited to have Alix deliver this session- Alix Hearn is an integrative child and adolescent psychotherapist, ecopsychotherapist and clinical supervisor with fourteen years’ experience of specialist working with children,young people and families. She has worked within schools, specialist trauma and adoption teams, child and adolescent mental health services, residential children’s homes, and private practice.
Alix specialises in working with developmental trauma,adoption and ‘looked-after’ children, rape and sexual abuse. She is particularly interested in how the fields of youth justice/youth offending and ecotherapy can be brought together.

During the session we will discuss new evidence-based research within the field of child mental health, including reflections upon eco-anxiety and eco-distress, and the impact this has upon the global mental health of young people.
Implications for clinical practice will be discussed and how ecotherapeutic
principles can be applied to many different settings and clinical work with children
and young people.
Aimed at Educational Psychologists,there will be a mixture of theory, research and case vignettes presented with time for questions and discussion throughout.
